Colonel David L. Gray served thirty-one years in the Maryland and Alabama Army National Guard and the United States Army Reserve.  Branch-qualified as an Engineer, Infantry, and Chemical Corps officer, he commanded units from platoon to battalion in size.  Colonel Gray graduated from the U.S. Army War College in 1996 and retired in 2002.  He is an Associate Professor of Education at the University of South Alabama in Mobile.
